Clean Energy Nepal, in collaboration with Kathmandu Metropolitan City, UN-Habitat and GIZ-SUTP conducted two days training workshop on “Towards Effective Parking Management for a Better Kathmandu” at Shanker Hotel, Lazimpat. The training was conducted for two days on 24th and 25th March, 2014.

Mainstreaming Gender in Climate Change Adaptation

Climate Adaptation is a process; it requires shifting people’s lifestyle to the changing climate. The basic understanding needed here is that since our society has been hoarding gender inequalities, the hardships brought about by this new challenge called “Climate Change” will hit women of the developing world disproportionately hard and exacerbate the already existing inequalities between the sexes. Hence, in order to reduce the gap and ensure Equity and social justice , it is a must that Gender Mainstreaming be done in Climate Change Adatation.

Study of District Initiatives on Climate Change in 24 districts of Nepal

Clean Energy Nepal with its collaborating organizations conducted Mapping study on climate change initiatives in districts in 24 districts of Nepal. The mapping studies were conducted over the period of 2012 and 2013 with the aim to document the climate change scenario, climate change initiatives and programs in the districts, institutional setup for implementing climate change programs in districts and the way forward recommendations for effective implementation of the climate change programs and projects. This booklet is a compilation of all the district study reports.

Proceedings_Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum III

Clean Energy Nepal and Clean Air Network Nepal in collaboration with Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Clean Air Asia, FK-Norway and UN-Habitat organized Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum (KSUMF). The main purpose of the forum is to bring the stakeholders together to discuss on the issues of sustainable urban mobility and air quality management issues in Kathmandu Valley, and enhance partnership among the stakeholders to tackle these problems. The program was focused on the non-motorized vehicles (NMVs), as the role and importance of such transport modes in urban mobility and economic development have been largely ignored in urban transport planning.

Proceedings_Training on Sustainable Urban Transportation_28 & 29 Oct 2013

CEN, MoPIT and UN-Habitat organized two day training course on “Sustainable Urban Transport (SUT)” in partnership with GIZ-SUTP and ADB, in Kathmandu from 28 to 29th October, 2013. The training course was organized to enhance the capacity of local decision makers and urban planners to formulate and implement appropriate policies that contribute to sustainable urban transport.
