Chairperson

Manjeet works with Climate Analytics as Head of LDC Support Team. He serves as an Advisor to the Chair of the LDC Group at the UN climate change negotiations and was a key part of the LDC efforts that led to the Paris Agreement in 2015, taking part in many of the high level processes in that negotiation in support of the LDC Chair. He is a member of the Managing Committee for the Environment Protection Fund at the Ministry of Population and Environment, Government of Nepal. He is also associated with Pokhara University, School of Environmental Science and Management, Kathmandu as Faculty for Climate Change Diplomacy. Manjeet was Program Director at CEN and also served as the functional head of the organisation from 2011 to 2013.

Mr. Rajan Parajuli

General Secretary

Rajan Parajuli is a prominent and internationally acclaimed journalist, media trainer and communication activist of Nepal. He has more than a decade long experiences in implementing innovative and impactful work on radio and television program production, organizing mass awareness campaigns in pro-poor and marginalized communities and training to upcoming young journalists of Nepal. For his courage, creativity and commitment for Democracy and executing innovative media projects to promote democratic practices in Nepali Politics, Rajan was rewarded as one of the 30 "Inspiring Youth" around the Globe by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a non-profit foundation from America working in more than 90 countries of the world I 2013.

Ms. Krity Shrestha

Krity has been working in the sector of Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management for the past 10 years. She is currently working in Practical Action as Knowledge Officer. Past involvement includes interdisciplinary research and implementation in Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction, with focus on climate change research on Adaptation governance, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management policy landscape in federal structure, Differentiated Gendered Vulnerability, Community Based Early Warning Systems, upstream-downstream linkages in delivering Ecosystem Services, National Adaptation planning, Community Based adaptation, Climate Adaptation Finance and Institutions. She has also worked in Air Quality Management and Sustainable Urban Mobility issues at national level. She has completed Masters in Environmental management from Pokhara University, Nepal.

Ms. Rassu Manandhar

Member

Rassu Manandhar brings seven years of technical and programmatic experience on the issues related to climate change, environment, and air quality.  She is currently working with UNDP, Nepal to support the Government of Nepal in enhancement of Nationally Determined Contributions to fulfil obligation as per the Paris Agreement. Ms Manandhar was part of the Professional Fellows Program for Governance and Society hosted by the US Department of State. She led study on ambient Air Pollution of Pokhara City as a part of Fredskorpset Norway exchange program (2015/16) with technical support from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has previously worked with Alternative Energy Promotion Centre under Climate and Carbon Unit as program officer and supported Certified Emission Reduction and accreditation process with Green Climate Fund. She has also worked with Clean Air Network Nepal as a Coordinator. She has a master's degree in environment management.

Ms. Amita Thapa Magar

Ms. Amita Thapa Magar is currently working with United Nations Office for Project Services as M&E Advisor. She has worked extensively, nearly a decade, on the issues related to environment: Air Quality and Climate Change, community engagement and development along with the projects management. Her active role and dedication was also reflected through various recognitions, such as British Council International Climate Champions, US Embassy Youth Council member, Fredskorpset Norway exchange participant, Chandra Gurung Memorial Fellowship and International Visitor Leadership Program – US Department of State. She garners her experience from working in Nepal, at Kathmandu, Karnali region and Earthquake affected areas and the Philippines. She has previously worked with Nepal Climate Change Support Program as a District Coordinator, and with Clean Energy Nepal as Program Coordinator. 

Mr. Suman Basnet

Mr. Basnet has many years of experience working as a Social and Environment Director at SN Power Nepal. Mr. Basnet had been the Senior Manager, CSR, SN Power Nepal and Director of REPSO Nepal and Winrock International. He has many years of working experiences in renewable energy sectors. Mr. Basnet has MBA on Technological Entrepreneurship from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute -The Lally School of Management and Technology (1999 – 2001), attended on a Fulbright Scholarship.

Mr. Kamal Raj Gosai, PhD

Member

Mr. Kamal Raj Gosai, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science at Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, Nepal where he also serves as a Research Coordinator. Mr. Gosai is also a Life Member of Bird Conservation Nepal.

Ms. Shreya K.C.

Shreya is a passionate climate justice activist. She is the advisor at Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA) where she formerly worked as National Network Coordinator. Being an active member of YOUNGO, the children and youth constituency of the UNFCCC, and also the Contact Person for the NDCs working group, she has worked with a diverse group of young people across the world to champion meaningful participation of young people in decision-making spaces. She is also the climate change champion of UNICEF South Asia and Campaign Coordinator of Mock COP. She has spoken at conferences such as COP25 and COP26 mainly on intergenerational justice and climate education. She was recognized as EE 30 under 30 by North American Association for Environmental Education for making a remarkable difference through environmental education and received the "Youth of the Year" award from Nepal Youth Council in 2022. Her story has been featured in two books "Stone Soup for a Sustainable World" and "50 Girls Saving Our Planet".
