In Lalitpur, Clean Energy Nepal under the Youth Climate Catalyst programme supported by the UNDP Nepal facilitated a sustainable farming initiative to strengthen climate resilience among peri-urban farmers facing declining soil health and increasing climate risks. Through hands-on training on Jholmal preparation, soil testing, and organic farming practices, the project empowered 30 farmers—many from ethnic and marginalized groups—to adopt low-cost, climate-resilient agricultural techniques. The initiative emphasized practical learning, follow-up support, and collaboration with local government bodies, enabling farmers to improve productivity while reducing dependency on chemical inputs. This model highlights the potential for scaling sustainable agriculture practices across similar communities in Nepal.
