In Rautahat, Clean Energy Nepal under the Youth Climate Catalyst programme supported by the UNDP Nepal supported a youth-led flood risk management initiative to enhance community resilience in a flood-prone area of Katahariya Municipality. The project engaged 200 direct beneficiaries, with strong participation from women and marginalized groups, through awareness sessions, disaster preparedness training, and community consultations. By strengthening local knowledge on emergency response and fostering coordination with municipal authorities, the initiative improved preparedness for climate-induced flooding. The active involvement of youth and community members has created a sustainable model for disaster risk reduction that can be replicated in other vulnerable areas across Nepal.
