Public Discussion program with Dr. Shobhakar Dhakal organized
Clean Energy Nepal together with UN-Habitat organized a Public Discussion program with Dr. Shobhakar Dhakal, Associate professor of the Asian Institute of Technology on "Human Settlements, Infrastructure and Spatial Planning: Key finding of IPCC WGIII AR5 and its implications to Nepal" on 14th October 2014 at SAP- Falcha, Babarmahal.
Technical Manpower for Solar and Energy Efficiency in Dharan
The first batch of 24 skilled solar technicians has been produced in Dharan. The solar technician training was organized from September 9-12 in Dharan Municipality Hall, for 24 electricians to impart technical skill for installation of solar home system and impart knowledge on energy efficiency at household level.
Special Interaction Program on Environment and Climate Change in National Budget
As a part of regular climate discussion, Clean Energy Nepal organized a special interaction program on " Environment and Climate Change in National Budget" on 21st July 2014. Various representatives from civil society organizations, development agencies and media participated in the event.
Public Facing Campaign to recognise Women Farmers’ Contribution and Leadership in Agriculture and Food in Nepal
Clean Energy Nepal on the behalf of Food for Agriculture Network and in Coordination with OXFAM is organized Women farmer recognition Program along with a book containing the success stories of "Women Farmers and their Challenges" will also be release on 19 June 2014 in DECC Hall, Kathmandu. Around 22 women farmers from different parts of the country were recognized and shared their stories in front of 170 guests and participants. Two books and briefing papers were also launched and circulated at the occasion.
CBA8 concluded with Kathmandu Declaration on Financing Local Adaptation to Climate Change
With the theme of "Financing local adaptation", the eighth international conference on community based adaptation concluded in Kathmandu, Nepal releasing the Kathmandu declaration on Financing Local Adaptation to Climate Change.Government of Nepal hosted the conference. IIED (UK), BCAS (Bangladesh) and CEN on behalf of CCNN were the organizer of this conference.
8th conference on climate change adaptation starts
The eighth International conference on Community Based Adaptation (CBA8) to Climate Change is being held in the capital from April 24. The Government of Nepal is hosting the international conference in collaboration with International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) as the Secretariat of Climate Change Network Nepal.
National Round table discussion on Climate Finance held.
With an objective to discuss the present status of climate finance , fund accessibility and disbursement on climate finance in Nepal, Clean Energy Nepal on behalf of Climate Change Network Nepal organized a half day Roundtable Discussion on “Climate Finance in Nepal: Status, Challenges and Way Forward” today in Kathmandu.
Air Pollution Exposure on Drivers being Studied
Clean Energy Nepal/ Clean Air Net-work Nepal and Hong Kong Polytechnic University are conducting a study on exposure of public transport drivers to in-vehicle air pollution. The study will conduct real-time air quality monitoring inside the public transport and lung-function test of drivers.
3rd Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum focused on NMVs
Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT), Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) and Clean Air Network Nepal (CANN) in collaboration with FK-Norway, Clean Air Asia and UN-Habitat organized third ‘Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum’ on 21st February 2014.
Residential Training on Climate Change to Journalists Held
A two and Half Day training to Journalists from various districts was organized in Godavari, Lalitpur from 26-28th February 2014. 19 journalists from 14 different districts participated in the Climate Story Camp.
