Consultation on “Low Carbon Economic Development Strategy (LCEDS) for Nepal” held

A Consultation Workshop on “Low Carbon Economic Development Strategy (LCEDS) for Nepal” was held in Kathmandu on 2nd February 2015. The consultation workshop was held in response to the 15 days public notice released by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (MoSTE) on 18th January 2015. Around 41 participants from various organizations, Institutions and development agencies participated in the consultation workshop.

Discussion on Urban Road Standard- 4th Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum for the Fourth Time

Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) and Clean Air Network Nepal (CANN) in collaboration with Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport (MoPIT), Kathmandu Valley Development Authority (KVDA) and UN-Habitat organized “4th Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum” on 2nd February 2015. The annual forum aimes to bring the stakeholders together to initiate policy dialogues, enhance partnership and collaboration among stakeholders, and share initiatives and best practices on sustainable urban mobility and better air quality in the valley.

Designers Training on Sustainable Housing in Pokhara

The "Designers Training on Sustainable Housing" was organized from January 29-February1, 2015 at Pokhara Grande Hotel, Pardi, Pokhara for 30 trainees(DUDBC Engineers, Nepal Engineers’ Association Pokhara Chapter, Professional Engineers and Architects from local consulting firm, Western Regional Campus, Pokhara Engineering College).

Upcoming 4th Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum

Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) and Clean Air Network Nepal (CANN) in collaboration with Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, UN-Habitat and Clean Air Asia are organizing 4th Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum on 2nd February 2015 in Kathmandu. This is a follow up to the “Kathmandu Sustainable Urban Mobility Forum” organized in December 2011, December 2012 and January 2014 in collaboration with the Ministry.

Public Discussion on Adaptation Finance in Kaski District Held.

With an aim to assess the status, transparency, accountability, good governance of various Climate Adaptation Programs and projects in the Kaski and the Public Participation and involvement in these projects, a public discussion was organized in Mustangchowk , Pokhara on 4th January 2015. More than 65 participants were involved in the discussion including Parliamentarian, community members, representatives from various government agencies, civil society representatives and media.

Designers Training on Sustainable Housing in Pokhara

The "Designers Training on Sustainable Housing" was organized from December 8-10 at Bandipur Mountan Resort, Bandipur and Pokhara Sub-Metropoltian City Office Hall, Pokahra for 30 trainees(engineers and architects of Pokhara Sub-Metropoltian City and Lekhnath Municipality). The training was organized to provide knowledge and build capacity of designers to construct the Green Homes incorporating concepts of passive solar design and green building materials.

Training on Solar Installation & Energy Efficiency at Household Level Completed

The "Training on Solar Installation & Energy Efficiency at Household Level" was organized from December 4-7 at ENPHO Hall, Kathmandu, for 20 trainees to impart technical skill for installation of solar home system and impart knowledge on energy efficiency at household level.

Pre COP Consultation organized in Kathmandu

Consultation programme was organized by Clean Energy Nepal (CEN) and Oxfam Nepal to inform about Nepal’s preparation and expectations from the upcoming meeting. Around 60 Government officials, experts, academician, media and civil society representatives, participated in the consultation.

Climate Discussion on "International Climate Finance: What is in store for Nepal?

A discussion workshop was organized on 13th November 2014 in Kathmandu to discuss the scenario of Climate Finance and various opportunities for Nepal. Around 31 participants from various ministries, development agencies and civil society representatives participated in the discussion programme.

Vehicle Free Day Campaign “Ktm Walks” Held in Urban Core Areas

Commemorating the World Car Free Day, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Clean Energy Nepal and RECPHEC together with Machhindra Club, Star Club, Saatghumti and Bhagwanbahal communities and partner organizations organized a week long ‘Ktm Walks’ campaign in different stretches of urban core areas. During this campaign, private motor vehicles were restricted and the space was exclusively provided for the people.
