City Volunteers – Creating Green Youth Force

City volunteers (CV) are the group of dedicated and committed young college students willing to contribute for improvement of environment in Kathmandu City . They are coordinated and managed by CEN and are affiliated to Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Environment Department.

Mission

To create environment friendly and conscious green force of youths, who substantially contribute to bring positive attitude changes in citizens of Kathmndu City for conserving and developing a beautiful well managed and environment friendly city

Objectives

• To bring positive changes in attitudes of youths;

• To Involve youths in real actions in terms of awareness and actions;

• Mobilize youths to advocate for change in society;

• Develop CV as a bridge between KMC and City dwellers.

Activities

• Coordinate, monitor and empower nature clubs in schools;

• Design, plan and implement Environmental Mass Education and Awareness Campaign;

• Conduct research and survey to generate information;

• Acts as resource persons to disseminate environment friendly technologies and skills;

• Community mobilization and participation;

• Initiate pilot projects at household, community and institutional level.
